In late September 2012 I decided to join a group of like-minded people on Goodreads dedicated to reading classics (a.k.a. dead authors). I was a little nervous how an online book group would work and if it would. Would it keep me motivated enough to actually read some of the books I'd been avoiding earlier in life?
As I write this a little over a year later I can say this experiment has had outstanding success and has pushed me to read far more than I expected. I think my family feels like I spend too much time with my nose in a book, but reading is an enjoyment, just as watching movies or playing video games is for others.
In the few short remaining months of 2012 I was able to complete eight classics that had escaped me earlier. I didn't slow down as I marched forward into 2013 and have set a brisk pace for myself now.
So what exactly did I accomplish in October, November and December?
