Deal Me In included having participants select 52 short-stories they would like to read this year. Each story was assigned to one of the 52 cards found in a standard deck. Each week a new card is selected and that is your story for the week. Be sure to checkout Biliophilopolis' site for details on Deal Me In. Cedar Station adapted the concept into Reading Roulette: Draw a Card, Read a Book! Selecting 52 books from her to-read pile she will select a card whenever she is stuck, overwhelmed or can't decide what to read next. She has no deadline for making her way through the deck. So thank you Cedar Station for inspiring yet another project. I have decided to take a selection of books from this year's plan that are not already scheduled for an upcoming month. Some of these I have already started, they have just been stalled and need finishing. I have listed each book twice to give me two shots at making it through this particular list. |
