Contestant number: 731 ~ Plethora (Goals Link #208)
Day 1 of Bout of Books Read-A-Thon is here, cheering myself on to a successful week of reading!
. I was able to finish one of the books mentioned in my initial post this weekend, so I will be swapping it for another one of my many projects. My overall goal for the week is 950 pages, a modest average of 135 pages a day
Minimum book plans for the week:
1. If you like X, try Y -- The Book Barbies - The easy guidelines for this challenge
All you have to do is give one or more recommendations based on the formula "If you like ____, try ___."
For full details, check out The Book Barbies blog.
So they call this an easy challenge, but honestly, this is a tough question when you get right down to the nitty gritty of it, we all love books, books and more books.
If you have a kid (or the kid in you) likes resourceful girl pirates, try Magic Marks the Spot by Caroline Carlson (Book 1 in The Very Nearly Honorable League of Pirates Series). [Review]
If you are interested in World War II holocaust history, but shy away from non-fiction, try The Auschwitz Escape by Joel C. Rosenberg. [Review]
If you like classic mysteries with a touch of romance, try The Law and the Lady by Wilkie Collins. [Review]
2. Introduce Yourself to Your Fellow #boutofbooks-ers (information below)
To kick off the read-a-thon, we're doing something a little different. We're hosting an informal challenge. Take a picture of yourself with your reading pile, your reading companions, the Bout of Books tagline (Are you ready to get your read on?), or anything else that will let us get to know YOU! Upload it to any social media site with the #boutofbooks hashtag and CONNECT with other readers!

Well, I have this thing against showing myself on public media, so please excuse the lack of my face, but here is a picture showing off my planned reads, the hashtag and a few things I like (besides books). Posting via a tweet as well. Previous postings: Sign-Up, Twitter Users - Don’t forget to use the hashtag #boutofbooks throughout the event.
