Late in 2012 I decided to join a book group dedicated to reading dead authors to push me to read the classics I missed earlier in life. I didn't set a goal for 2013 for this project letting it unfold as it may. Looking back and reflecting as much as I might feel guilty about missing so many of these books earlier I feel that I can appreciate them more and hopefully understand the meaning written into them.
Many of the books read in 2013 are universally known as classics, but some of those I read haven't been given such notoriety. This doesn't bother me, we all have different taste and some of the most loved books have not been my most loved.
Peeking back over the year I have amazed myself with the number and assortment of books that fall in this category I read without even setting a goal. Follow the jump to see how I fared.
